Yesterday (before the pandemonium), Evelyn and I were on duty at US Base, tracking and listening.
An email from FAI came in announcing a new World Record in the discipline of Parachuting. The record was for the "Longest Drag Distance," which I guess is the distance you manage to skid your foot on the ground before falling on your face. The new record is 175.99 meters.
This prompted me to look up the same record in the Feminine category: 113.05 meters.
When I remarked on the discrepancy, Evelyn said, "Obviously, women are much smarter than men about taking care of their shoes."
